| Fatal Car Accidents in California Are Rising |
Each year there are approximately 6,934 fatal auto accidents in the United States involving drivers who are 16 and older. From 1998 to 2007, there were a total of 563,135 fatal crashes. Twelve percent of those accidents (69,337) involved drivers with invalid licenses. Of all types of drivers, it was determined males were involved in these types of accidents approximately six times more often then female drivers.
In California alone, there has been a total of 8,487 fatal accidents from 1998 to 2007. The specific number of fatal accidents during this time period are below:

California has had a total of 17,750 fatal car accidents between 1998 and 2007, most of these accidents were involving males. Specifically, the statistics for these date ranges were:

- Adult (ages 41-64)
- Older (ages 65 and up)
