An SUV rear-ended a big-rig Sunday morning on the 210 Freeway causing a serious auto accident in Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol reports that the truck was pulled off and parked on the side of the road when the SUV hit it and then became engulfed in flames. While two of the SUV passengers were able to survive the crash, three of them were trapped in the car and killed. The driver of the big-rig was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

On the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, an alleged drunk driver was headed the wrong way and ended up in a head-on collision with a Toyota Corolla, eventually involving two other cars in the accident as well. Last week in Downey a man was killed as a result of a hit-and-run. Witnesses report that two men were involved in a fight earlier in the night before the driver got in his car, deliberately hit the other man, and dragged him 300 yards. The victim was found dead near Lakewood Blvd. and Rosewood Ave. The Downey Police Department has not reported whether or not the hit was deliberate, but the driver has since turned himself in.
