Friday night a car was abandoned on the Metro Blue Line near the Vernon Avenue and Washington Boulevard Stations causing a train to crash into it. The Los Angeles Police Department reports that the man with the car was attempting to kill himself, changed his mind, and left the car on the tracks. The train was able to stop with minor damage to it and no injuries reported as a result of the crash. The owner of the car has since turned himself in to the police.
Luckily in this situation, no one was injured. However, it's always possible for injuries to occur in Los Angeles auto accidents involving cars and trains. When a driver is negligent like the man who left his car on the tracks, that person should be held responsible for any injuries resulting from the crash. You may be able to receive compensation for injuries and damages. Please do not hesitate to contact our Los Angeles auto accident lawyers at (800) 715-4489 for assistance in pursuing the compensation you deserve if you are ever involved in a similar accident. |
